UEFA has initiated the UEFA Together programme, an international effort designed to enhance football development globally by collaborating with its sister confederations and their national federations. Spanning three years, the program will focus on impactful projects tailored to address specific regional development priorities identified by the confederations.

The first partnership will be with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to address inequalities in women’s football across Asia. This will involve investments in resources and programs to ensure equal opportunities for women and girls in the sport.

In Africa, UEFA will align with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to advance elite youth development pathways for girls. The partnership aims to nurture talent and create the infrastructure necessary for sustainable growth in women’s football.

Furthermore, UEFA plans to collaborate with Concacaf to enhance club licensing systems and improve coach education, focusing on professionalizing the sport and raising standards in the region.

Working with the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), UEFA’s initiatives will encourage women in leadership positions and strengthen child safeguarding measures. This aims to promote inclusivity and equity in governance and youth development in South America.

In Oceania, UEFA will cooperate with the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) to improve high-performance management and establish youth tournaments, thereby promoting the growth of football among youth in the region.

Theodore Theodoridis, UEFA’s general secretary, emphasized that UEFA Together signals a new era of collaboration aimed at impactful development in global football. Focused on strategic development areas, the initiative promises a lasting legacy and benefits for football worldwide.

This program reinforces UEFA’s commitment to expanding football development beyond Europe, strengthening international relations within the sport while also addressing major challenges that impede its growth. Overall, it aligns with UEFA’s goal to foster sustainable growth and equitable opportunities at all levels of football.
