The IBSA Football Sport Committee has announced an open bidding process for the 2024 and 2025 IBSA Blind Football and Partially Sighted Football Championships. IBSA member organizations in good standing are encouraged to download and complete the application form provided by IBSA to participate in this bidding process.
Available championships for bidding include the following:
– 2024 IBSA Men’s Blind Football World Grand Prix: Must commence before May 28, 2024; applications due by October 31, 2023.
– 2024 IBSA Women’s Blind Football World Grand Prix
– 2024 IBSA Partially Sighted Football Continental Championship
– 2025 IBSA Men’s Blind Football Continental Championship Division 2: This tournament will be divided into four regions: Africa, America, Asia/Oceania, and Europe.
– 2025 IBSA Partially Sighted Football World Championship
– 2025 IBSA Women’s Blind Football World Championship
Elias Mastoras, IBSA Football Chairperson, highlighted that their strategies and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will strengthen the framework post-pandemic. Plans are in place to increase match frequency, including three World Championships for women to align with International Paralympic Committee (IPC) standards ahead of the LA28 Games. A new UEFA IBSA development plan will focus on fostering competitions among emerging nations, women, and U23 national teams.
